Let J Hull Photography help you document your journey! We want to help create portraits that celebrate the life growing inside of you. Never had professional portraits taken or would you describe yourself as shy? No worries! We will ensure that you are in the most flattering gowns or bodysuits. We will help guide you with poses to showcase you your bump. Our mission is to help create a relaxed, memorable experience while feeling your most beautiful self.

We suggest scheduling your session between 30-36 weeks. Maternity Portraits Sessions can take place at J Hull Photography Studio or on location, Sessions can be Mama only or can include spouses and/or children.

When should you book? Most clients book in their second trimester to guarantee their spot as we do sometimes book up months in advance.

When should sessions take place? Sessions usually take place between 30-36 weeks.

Is a deposit or retainer required? Yes, a non'-refundable retainer is required to reserve the date and time of your session. It is 50% of the session cost. The remaining balance is due the day of our session. It is paid via an emailed invoice.

Interested in a Newborn Session as well? Maternity & Newborn Packages are available as well. That information is located under Newborn Packages. There is a $50 credit applied to your maternity session when you bundle a newborn session with your maternity session.

Can my partner or child be in the photographs, too? Of course! I love incorporating mom, dad and your other children into our session photos. While in most cases you and dad will be the stars of the day, I believe it's so important to have several photographs with the entire family. Fur babies can be incorporated in outside sessions as well!

Not sure what to wear? All sessions include complimentary access to the J Hull Maternity Client Closet. Dress fitting appointments are normally scheduled a week before the actual session. There is also a children’s client closet as well that includes some matching mommy and me dresses.

How many outfits should I choose for my maternity session? The Maternity Mini Session includes one outfit since it is only a Mini Session while the other packages include additional outfit changes. Two to four outfits for your maternity session is a good number to bring or choose from the Maternity Client Closet. All clients have access to the Maternity Client Closet. I like to always have at least two for variety's sake, but whether you want to wear more than that is up to you. What should I consider when planning maternity outfits? My biggest piece of advice is to wear something you feel both comfortable and beautiful in. Lastly, wear a supportive, well-fitting bra. Between us ladies, I know that breasts change a lot during pregnancy, so pick up a new bra that fits immaculately before our session to avoid discomfort and any lumps or bumps!

Where do we take the photographs? Where we take photographs depends on the type of session we're shooting. For nature maternity sessions, I like to do on-location, outdoor photographs that let us maximize our access to natural light. This can be in a beautiful pasture, quaint park, in the woods or even in urban settings. These sessions will be scheduled near sunset. Studio sessions will be held at 123 North Parkway Drive in Pekin at the J Hull Photography Studio. Studio sessions can be scheduled anytime of day.

Do you have a Gown Trade In Program? Yes! You may donate your purchased gown to the J Hull Client Closet for credit towards your session. This only applies for specific brands including Silk Fairies, Sew Trendy, Chicaboo, Mii Estilo. and KH Fashion. Please contact me for details.
